On March 5th 2014, in the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Ottawa, was the opening of the exhibition "Women Through Time and Nation", works of the academic painter of Serbian origin Marina Gavanski Zissis.The exhibition showcased about 30 oil paintings and 10 watercolours and was opened until March 10, 2014.

Marina Gavanski Zissis graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Arts in Belgrade, Serbia, and now lives and works in Montreal, Canada. The exhibition is dedicated to the International Women's Day, and paintings of Tsaritsa Milica and Princess Olivera, especially painted for this occasion, were revealed.

The Guest of Honour at the exhibition was the Ambassador of Indonesia, Her Excellency Dienne H. Moehario, which is also a President of the Women Ambassadors in Ottawa (WAO) association.

In the speech, the Ambassador Moehario thanked the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia for organizing the exhibition and announced upcoming panel discussion at the Parliament of Canada. Association of the Women Ambassadors in Ottawa (WAO), in cooperation with Canadian Parliament, is organizing on March 25, 2014, a Panel Discussion to Commemorate International Women's Day 2014.

The artist Marina Gavanski Zissis, in the presentation of revealed paintings, elaborated roles of Tsaritsa Milica and Princess Olivera in Serbian history. Mrs. Mirjana Sesum-Curcic, Chargé d'affaires a.i., in the introductory speech, indicated the importance of the gender equity as one of the fundamental principles of human rights, National Strategy for the advancement of women and gender equality in the Republic of Serbia, as well as this year's UN theme for International Women's Day.

The exhibition was attended by the representatives of Diplomatic Community, Canadian Institutions, several associations from Ottawa and members of Serbian Community from Ottawa and Montreal.
