BELGRADE, March 25 - The National Electoral Commission (RIK) has published the final results of Serbia's early parliamentary elections held on March 16 according to which the coalition led by the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) won 158 seats. The final results, which were released on Monday evening, showed that the second-ranked is the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS)-Party of United Pensioners of Serbia (PUPS)-United Serbia (JS) coalition with 44 seats. The Democratic Party (DS) won 19 seats, the New Democratic Party-Greens coalition 18, the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians six, the Party of Democratic Action of Sandzak three and Riza Halimi's Party for Democratic Action two seats. After the announcement of the final results, the Serbian parliament is due to be constituted within 30 days, and the seats will be distributed once the results of the vote are published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia. A total of 6,756,998 voters were registered for the March 16 elections, and 3,592,375 cast their ballots. A total of 1,736,920 citizens voted for the SNS, 484,607 for the SPS-PUPS-JS coalition, 216,634 for the DS and 204,767 for the NDS. A total of 19 slates took part in the elections, and the vote was repeated at only one polling station in Novi Pazar on Saturday. A total of 31 RIK members voted in favor of the RIK report on final elections results, one official of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS) was against and three officials from the Dveri Movement and the Democratic Party of Serbia were abstained.
